Integration Guide
Prerequisites: Integrating Messenger with murai requires Facebook business verification. Detailed instructions are available on the Facebook Business Help Center. This process involves submitting business information and waiting for Facebook's confirmation.
1. Creating a Facebook Page
A Facebook Page often makes the first impression on new customers. If you don’t have a page yet, you can create one following the instructions here.
2. Setting Up a Facebook App
Creating a Facebook App is a crucial step, and detailed guidance can be found on the Meta for Developers page. Follow these steps:
- Create a Meta Developer account.
- Go to the App Dashboard and click Create App.
- When prompted, select Other and then Business.
- Assign a name to your app.
- Link your app to a business account.
Note: You need administrative access to the Facebook Page you wish to connect with your chatbot.
3. Acquiring Credentials for Chatbot Integration
With your Facebook app ready, link it to your murai chatbot:
In a new tab navigate to your workspace and choose the desired chatbot.
In the chatbot's settings, select Integrations.
Pick Messenger from the list of external integrations.
Enter the necessary credentials in the dialog box:
- Page ID: Located in your Facebook Page's settings.
- Page Access Token: Obtainable via the API Explorer by selecting your app and page, then generating an Access Token.
- App ID: Found in the settings or dashboard of your Facebook App.
- App Secret Token: Located in your Facebook App's settings. Handle this token with care for security purposes.
Click Connect after filling in all fields.
Additional necessary credentials for the next steps will be displayed.
4. Setting Up Messenger
- Return to your App dashboard, find Messenger in the products list, and click Set Up.
- In Configure Webhooks, enter the credentials received from your chatbot page and select Verify and Save.
- Verify these credentials on your chatbot by clicking Verify Integration.
- Lastly, complete an App Review, which requires your business page to be verified.
